The history of Capital City Beverages
In 1933, shortly after the repeal of prohibition, S.J. Bertucci secured one of the first beer distributor permits in Mississippi, and founded the S.J. Bertucci Company (now F.E.B. Distributing) in Gulfport, Mississippi. In 1941, Mr. Bertucci opened Capital City Beverages, Inc. in Jackson, Mississippi. The beer distributorship, supplying 20 Grand Ale and Jax Beer to central Mississippi was managed by George W. Drennan, Mr. Bertucci’s son-in-law. Mr. Bertucci’s mission, when founding Capital City Beverages was to offer the world’s finest beers, and provide exceptional service to the people of Central Mississippi.
After nearly seventy years in business, Mr. Bertucci’s commitment to excellence continues. Capital City Beverages has expanded to become one of the largest beer distributorships in Mississippi, offering more than 140 import, craft, specialty, and domestic beers.
